Families and Friends of Missing Persons Unit (FFMPU)

The Families and Friends of Missing Persons Unit (FFMPU) is the only service of its kind in Australia.   We provide free and confidential support, counselling, information and referrals to families and friends of missing people who live in New South Wales (NSW) or where the person went missing or last resided in NSW.

Information for victims of domestic terrorism

If you have been a victim of terrorism in New South Wales (NSW), you may be eligible for support under the Victims Support Scheme.

Child Sexual Offence Evidence Pilot

The Child Sexual Offence Evidence Pilot (the pilot) introduces two initiatives to assist child victims of sexual offences engage with the criminal justice system. These initiatives are:

  • Pre-recording of the entire evidence, and
  • Children's Champions (Witness Intermediaries)

National Redress Scheme

The NSW Government has opted into the National Redress Scheme for Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse.  

The Scheme can provide people who experienced institutional child sexual abuse with a monetary payment, counselling and direct personal responses from institutions.

Victims of Crime Clearinghouse

The Victims of Crime Clearinghouse Research database contains summaries and publication details of journal articles, conference papers, research reports and other items that examine the needs of victims of crime and how they can be assisted.
